This book did not leave me as exhausted as I sometimes feel with Caine's books. Exhausted in a good way. There is never that strong emotional connection, but I like them more for the action and quick read they provide. I may blame the fact that I stopped midway to read Spirit Bound and then picked it back up with only 50 pages to go.
I did like the change of location, but..some things just seemed to come a little easier than they should. May seem strange that I can accept a town of vampires but then take issue with plot...but being in jail for suspected murder and then never worrying about it again, fixing a town full of sick vamps overnight, the library doors being wide open the very next morning. How do they know they got them all? Oh well.
